JOHN
& JUDY DAWSON
We
married 42yrs ago in Pukekohe, South Auckland and have 3 grownup sons,
and 3 grandchildren. We have lived in New Zealand for most of those
years bar 2yrs in Wollongong, NSW, Australia. We have travelled to
Scotland in search of John's roots in Fifeshire twice and had a quick
15 days around Europe with stopovers on our way home in Japan,
Singapore, San Francisco and had many trips to Australia for family
gatherings. I am a KIWI born and breed, John was born in Scotland
immigrated to Australia when he was 4yrs old and came to NZ when he was
17 yrs old and met me 4yrs later and never went back.
Our
house has always been full of extra bodies and we always wondered how
we could make a living out of this. Well now we have found a way.
Our 2nd son got married at the Ohinemuri Winery 2005 and we found
the ideal place here in these beautiful surroundings. To wake up
in the morning and look out at the ever changing mountain scenery
- What more could you wish for.
John
has a passion for turning wood and makes lovely gifts out of New
Zealand native timbers that are for sale. Add to this my ever growing
collection of Owls which is now on display. Hence the name GOLDEN
OWL. I wanted to call it 'Wooden Owl' but John said 'there is gold in
these hills', so it was Golden instead.
We
like meeting people and hearing about where they are from, where they
have been and what they have seen. So we look forward to meeting you
when you come and stay with us.
